Leiden, October 2026 — Initial laboratory results open a potential development route for targeted cancer therapies without requiring light activation.
GenLumina is developing a family of silver-based oncology payloads: SnB (SilvernanoBullet) and SnB* (SilvernanoBullet-star).
SnB: cytotoxic activity without light activation
Initial in vitro studies show dose-dependent cytotoxic activity of free SnB without illumination. These findings support further evaluation of SnB as a potential payload for antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) and peptide–drug conjugates (PDCs).
SnB: light activation to enhance activity*
SnB* is designed to enhance intracellular cytotoxic activity through light activation. It offers an additional development option where light delivery is feasible and provides a meaningful benefit.
Together, SnB and SnB* offer potential opportunities for ADC and PDC developers seeking new payloads.
The next step: targeted conjugates
GenLumina is evaluating whether antibody- and peptide-based delivery can bring SnB into target cells while retaining sufficient cytotoxic activity without light. Establishing target-dependent cell killing is a key next validation milestone.
“These findings are an exciting step for GenLumina. They suggest a potential development route without requiring light activation, which could simplify clinical development while preserving light activation as an additional option,” said CEO Gerco Kanbier
