Leiden, July 2025 – GenLumina has reached a preclinical milestone with our controlled Antibody Drug Conjugate (ADC) showing efficacy against breast cancer cells.
We have successfully conjugated our drug payload to an established therapeutic antibody used in breast cancer treatment (HER2) and demonstrated its efficacy in the lab. This serves as an important proof point for our platform, showcasing that our payload can be linked to an existing antibody while retaining its ability to selectively eliminate cancer cells upon light activation, precisely where and when it’s needed.
By combining antibody-based tumor targeting with spatially and temporally controlled activation, we aim to enhance precision in cancer treatment, effectively targeting tumors while sparing healthy cells.
Key achievements include:
– Successful conjugation
– Dose-dependent efficacy
– Controlled activation
– Complete cell killing in vitro
This represents real progress and exciting news for GenLumina.
“We are grateful for this results, which strengthens our mission to develop safer and more effective cancer treatments,”, said CEO Gerco Kanbier.
