Our light-activated drug is designed as a next-generation payload for existing targeted therapies with antibodies (ADC) and peptides (PDCs). At only ~2 nm, the Silver NanoBullet can be linked to antibodies or peptides that already recognize specific cancer cells. Once delivered to the target cell and its nucleus, the payload remains inert until activated by light, triggering a localized toxic effect that disrupts DNA replication and eliminates the cancer cell.
